Two for One in Wimbledon Conservation Area 20.02.2008 Adams + Collingwood have gained planning consent for the demolition of a private house at 100 Arthur Road within the heavily protected Wimbledon North Conservation Area and for its replacement with two new four storey houses each of approx 400 sq m area. The scheme was the outcome of protracted discussions and negotiations with Merton Planning department. A well illustrated design statement helped to make the case for the proposed development and included a detailed analysis of the patterns of gaps between houses in the area(!) to meet officer concerns on this issue.
