The lower ground floor was treated in a contemporary way, while at ground and first floors the more formal qualities of the existing spaces were retained and enhanced: full length broad oak flooring was laid, the main stair and balustrading were reinstated and all of the original mouldings and features of the house were restored.
Externally, a pseudo Victorian conservatory was replaced with a contemporary one with frameless glazing and pivoting hardwood doors. The front elevation stucco work, which had suffered from inappropriate cement render repair, was completely redone in traditional lime render, restoring the exterior of the house to its original fine quality.
