In this project the challenge was to introduce a sizeable contemporary extension incorporating a family room and study to the rear of this listed house which is prominently located in the Old Chiswick Conservation Area.
The solution, an elegantly simple barn shaped addition with a completely frameless sheer glass end wall, responds sensitively to the scale, form and materials of the original house, makes a positive contribution to the character of the conservation area, and dramatically interconnects the new interior with its historic garden setting.
