Lowndes Square
International clients acquired a very ordinary 1930's flat in Lowndes Square with the intention of creating a contemporary apartment of the highest quality.

The entire flat was gutted and completely replanned to achieve an elegant and architecturally coherent sequence of spaces in places of the previous confused layout. The problem of modest ceiling heights is overcome by clever changes of ceiling level with lowered perimeters and raised centres to each space. All walls are clad in flush limewood panelling, into which are incorporated minimally detailed doors, cabinets and full height window recesses to correct the proportions of the existing external windows. Specialist paint and plaster finishes and traditional custom designed cherry wood parquet floors complete the interior. A comprehensive audiovisual installation was installed with a multi-screen media room and plasma screens concealed in all bathroom mirrors. A sophisticated scene set lighting installation provides complete flexibility and control of the ambience in the apartment, through a sophisticated Lutron system with Crestron touch pad controls which also operates the heating and cooling services as well as the audiovisual systems, curtains and blinds.

The result is a sophisticated and elegant apartment that exceeds the expectations of the most sophisticated and discriminating international clients.
