Project Description

Cheyne Walk

Location: London
Year: 2016
Client: Private

The renovation of this fine Grade 2 listed property overlooking the River Thames included transforming the original open plan artist studio on the top floor to an open plan master bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. The transformation evolved around the key issue of ensuring the bay window was accessible, to maximise the exceptional view of the River Thames, Albert Bridge and The old village of Battersea. Adams+Collingwood also transformed the cellular ground floor plan into a series of interconnected rooms from front to back. The kitchen now  has an intimate connection with the dining room and living room through a new doorway. The addition of the door required exceptional joinery skills to match the period panelling within the living room. Overall the house has been fine tuned to become a beautiful family home with lots of witty detail.
